The Band Perry Plans Comeback With New Label
Sibling trio turned country group The Band Perry hit the scene in 2010 with their breakout self-titled album. Composed of Kimberly, Reid, and Neil Perry, the band achieved early success with their debut single, “If I Die Young,” which quickly reached number one on the US Hot Country Songs chart and has since been certified 9x Platinum by the RIAA.
In the decade that followed, they earned five additional number-one songs, four ACM Awards, three CMA Awards, and a Grammy Award, among other accolades.
In March 2023, The Band Perry announced that they were taking a “creative break” to allow for each member to pursue individual goals.
In July of this year, the group announced its return to country music after signing a new deal with Nashville Harbor Records under Big Machine Label Group. Original members Kimberly and Reid returned, and Kimberly’s husband, Johnny Castello, replaced Neil Perry.
They expressed excitement for the new chapter in a post which read:
“To everyone who’s never left our side – who’s believed in second chances, in full circles, and in the power of coming home – this one’s for you.”
Reid Perry Announces Exit From The Band Perry
On October 13th, just three months after the new deal was signed, founding member Reid Perry announced that he had made the decision to step away from the band. In a post shared online, he wrote:
“To the fans, you’ve always been my favorite part of this. I’ve decided to leave TBP. I’ll be missing seeing you in the crowd at a Band Perry show…”
The 36-year-old revealed that he has chosen to instead shift his focus to managing a new artist, Ryan Coleman. He continued:
“For me it was and will always be about making great country music, with and for the hardworking people who love it and live it.”
With his departure, lead singer Kimberly Perry is left as the only founding member remaining in the group. Reid ended his message:
“Thank you for every memory, I’ll see you back in the saddle. I wish Kimberly and TBP the best as they move forward into the future.”
