During the AFC Championship game between the Chiefs and Bengals, as Ashanti was singing, the microphone shut down and stopped working. That’s when the crowd took over to help and it was incredible!

Having your microphone malfunction is a nightmare for A-list musicians, especially Grammy-Award-winning singers such as 41-year-old Ashanti who gave a spectacular performance on Sunday, Jan 30th during the AFC Champion Ship.

Even though her microphone had technical difficulties, the crowd sang loud and proud for her and carried on the song in perfect harmony all the way until she was able to chime back in and finish the song.

Arrowhead Stadium attendees were so hyped that they stepped up and made sure that the singer was supported through the entire song dedicated to the United States of America.

It was a great comradery time for the fans in the arena! And shout out to Ashanti for her amazing performance!

Ashanti was the first female artist to occupy the top two positions on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart simultaneously with “Foolish” and “What’s Luv?” at numbers one and two, respectively.

Ashanti wasn’t the only one who sang the national anthem that day. Brandy performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the NFC Championship game between the 49ers and the Rams.
