This living country legend took to the stage during a very special event to sing one of his brand-new songs off his highly-anticipated new album, Austinology: Alleys of Austin.

Michael Martin Murphey has been a true staple of any real country music collection since he rang out across radio waves with his first chart-topping single “Wildfire” in 1975. In the decades that have passed, Murphey has never stopped writing, singing, and handcrafting real, raw country music.

Taking the stage at this one-night-only event, Murphey sang his heart out in a beautiful new song that is part of his new album we’ve all been waiting for.

Presented by Country Road TV, this intimate concert performance was truly a sight to behold and filled up every single seat in this hometown theater.

This legendary hitmaker sang this rendition of Jerry Jeff Walker’s “Little Bird” that tells a story about remembering a young love and the timeless feeling that came with it. Speaking from a point of view as someone who grew older and realizes now the bittersweet truth of life, he looks back after a little bird spurs the memory.

Murphey’s brand-new album is a collection of songs that all revel in the vibrant spirit of the Austin, Texas music scene that flourished in the mid-70s. Featuring artists like Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Amy Grant, Steve Earle, and more – Murphey really dives deep into the heart of the Austin sound and strikes a chord in the heart of country music fans.

The album is filled to the brim with Austin classics from both the artists who helped craft them and others who contributed to the sound of that musical era. This new record from one of our favorite legends has something for everyone and delivers a sound that will stand the test of time.
