Kacey Musgraves Shared A Clip From The 2013 CMA Awards On Her Instagram Stories
On Saturday, March 8, Kacey Musgraves shared a short clip from the 2013 CMA Awards on her personal Instagram Stories. The clip was of Miranda Lambert accepting the Female Vocalist of the Year Award, which Musgraves was also up for along with Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Kelly Clarkson.
Earlier in the evening, Musgraves won New Artist of the Year, which Lambert referenced in her acceptance speech, saying, “Kacey, congratulations on New Artist, that was awesome. East Texas girls gotta stick together.”
The camera cut to Musgraves, who had an emotionless look on her face.
When sharing the clip, Musgraves explained her reaction, writing, “You knew that I’d said some things about you,” while tagging Lambert and using the eye-rolling emoji.
Some have speculated that the drama between the women back then was because Musgraves co-wrote “Mama’s Broken Heart” with Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally and wanted to record it herself, but due to Miranda’s established fame, she took the song instead.
Miranda Lambert Responds
Shortly after Musgraves shared her Instagram Story, Lambert responded with some insight about that time in their lives.
“Well I’ve done my fair share of shit talkin’ too,” she replied.
Since both ladies are now taking accountability for some drama that took place 13 years ago, fans are wondering what this all means! Some think they are just clearing the air, or making a public truce, while others think they are gearing up to release a duet!
Musgraves Has Been Teasing New Music
Ever since the Instagram Stories with Lambert, the “Follow Your Arrow” singer has been promoting something new and it seems like it’s a new album! The images on her Instagram look like they could be an album cover and the title will be Middle Of Nowhere.
Additionally, one of her posts give a phone number to call and when you do, it sounds like a wrong number message, but it’s the singer saying, “This is Kacey Musgraves, and you’ve reached the middle of nowhere. Press 1 for a real good time.”
