Miranda Lambert Isn’t “Sad Anymore”
on Sep 03, 2019
From her hard-hitting songs like “Kerosene” to her emotional ballads like “Tin Man,” Miranda Lambert writes what she knows. Although she once was telling the Tin Man from Wizard of Oz that he’s lucky he doesn’t have a heart to feel the pain of heartbreak, she now is happier than she’s ever been.
Thanks to her relationship with her husband Brendan McLoughlin, whom she married in a secret ceremony in January. She announced their nuptials on February 16 “in honor of Valentine’s Day.”

Although she is not feeling heartbroken anymore, she still plays those songs at her shows every night. While on her Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars tour stop at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Saturday night (Aug 31), she introduced her heartbreaking song “Tin Man” by saying, “I love country music with all my heart and soul. It’s what I live for, it’s what I breathe for. Somethin’ about country music is usually a sad song. You gotta have ’em. Sometimes a sad song will get you through a sad time.”
She continued, “Lucky for me, I’m not in a sad time anymore in my life, thank you to my sweet husband — from Staten Island, by the way!”
Her comment about her former New York Police Department husband garnered lots of cheers from the Atlantic City crowd.
“But no matter what, sometimes you always go, maybe in a dark room and drink a cold beer, and sing a sad song. So that’s what I’m gonna do because I love it,” she said before strumming the guitar intro to “Tin Man.”
