Bette Gene Foster Spoonts was born in Archer City, Texas, on May 19, 1928. While attending the University of New Mexico, she became re-acquainted with her childhood friend, Tommy L. Spoonts, whom she went on to marry in 1947. They were married for 70 years and had five children.
Missy went on to talk about how her grandmother was generous, kind, and caring. She even asked Missy if her and her husband Jase were doing okay financially since their show was no longer airing.
Finding joy in the midst of the tragic situation Missy concluded her thoughts with,
“Because of her tremendous faith in Christ and her life of sacrifice and surrender to Him, she didn’t lose. She won! She’s with her Savior, and I can’t wait for our family reunion! Until then, I will miss her tremendously. What a day that will be!!”
Due to the current pandemic, the graveside service will be for the family only.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Mia Moo Fund which raises funds that go to children effected by cleft lip and palate throughout the US.
