Morgan Wallen Marks 30th Birthday With New Photos Of His Son

The photos come four days after the “You Proof” singer told fans that he got “bad news” from his doctors at the Vanderbilt Voice Center in Nashville. Wallen was diagnosed with vocal fold trauma and was advised to go on vocal rest for six weeks or risk permanently damaging his voice.

“After taking 10 days of vocal rest, I performed three shows in last weekend in Florida. By the third one I felt terrible, so I went in and got scoped yesterday. They told me that I re-injured by vocal chords and that I have vocal fold trauma. Their advice is that I go on vocal rest for six weeks, so that’s what I’m going to do,” Wallen told fans.

As a result, Wallen postponed six weeks of tour dates, many of which have been rescheduled as of press time. Read more about Morgan’s health issues HERE.

Morgan was forced to cancel his ACM Awards performance on May 11, choosing to skip the even altogether. Unfortunately, the singer wasn’t in attendance to accept his first Male Artist of the Year trophy. Garth Brooks, who also announced the winner, accepted it on Wallen’s behalf.

Morgan’s son, Indigo “Indie” Wilder, was born in July 2020 to the singer and his ex-girlfriend, Katie “KT” Smith.

Wallen announced Indie’s birth in a social media post with a special message for his first-born.

“I’m a changed man. Since you came into the world Friday, I see mine differently now. It’s not just me anymore, and I’m glad it’s not. This year has been the hardest of my life in so many ways, but that’s not what i will remember it by. You are. You are a gift and this tough year just made sense,” Morgan wrote. “I’ll be the Dad you deserve as well as the co-parent your mother deserves. Since you were born, I know that every decision I make will be with you in mind. I promise I’ll always protect you, and do my best to be an example of a good, godly man just like my daddy was for me.”

In the months since Indie’s birth, Morgan has occasionally shared photos of him, usually on holidays or Indie’s birthday. Smith regularly shares photos of the little boy on social media, giving fans a glimpse into her co-parenting with Wallen. When Indie was just a few months old, Smith dressed him up as Wallen for Halloween….mullet, cutoff flannel shirt, blue jean and all.
