Country music superstar Morgan Wallen is cooking up something new in the studio

Morgan Wallen has yet again piqued the interest of his listeners with a teaser of new music to come. The “Last Night” singer shared a 90-second clip of what could likely be his next release, and fans are already begging to hear the full version.

The new ballad highlights a softer, more delicate side of the artist compared to many of Wallen’s anthems that fans have come to know and love. The song, which shows off the upper register of his voice, wrestles with putting on a happy face, even when you don’t feel that way inside. It croons:

“But it was good to see you smile /

Girl, you know it’s been a while /

It was good to see you smile /

Even if it was just for the picture.”

He shared the snippet in a simple audio-only post, with just a smiley face as the caption.

The song explores themes of heartbreak and deception, highlighting the struggle of holding onto a love lost but not wanting to let it show.

Wallen released the official studio version of “Lies, Lies, Lies” on July 5th as the lead single from his forthcoming studio album. So far, the song has spent four weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and is currently sitting in the 13th spot.
