Morgan Wallen’s Court Date Pushed Back Four Months
Morgan Wallen was set to appear in court on August 15th, facing three Class E felony counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon (a chair) and a Class C misdemeanor for disorderly conduct. The charges stem from an April 7th incident where Wallen threw a chair off the roof of a Nashville bar, nearly striking two police officers. Alcohol was believed to be involved.
Wallen responded a couple of days following the incident on X, saying:
“I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility. I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change.”

Although Wallen was respectful and remorseful about his actions, this is not the country star’s first run-in with the law related to alcohol. In 2016, he was arrested for a DUI, The charges were eventually dropped with little detail available.
More notably, in 2020, Wallen was involved in another incident on Broadway in Nashville. After being ejected from a bar for breaking glass, he got into several verbal altercations on the street. Despite being given multiple chances by officers to leave with his friends, Wallen refused and was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was later released on a $500 bail, and the charges were also dropped.
Morgan Wallen’s Court Date For Chair Incident Moved For the Second Time
This history paints a pattern of alcohol-related incidents that have marred Wallen’s career, drawing significant public attention and legal consequences. Including his most recent arrest, which he was set to appear in court for on August 15th. The date was moved four months into the future and is now set to be held on December 12th.
Wallen’s lawyer, Worrick Robinson, said the case was “very complicated” and that “it’s not going to resolve itself without subpoenas and witnesses.” This four-month delay gives Robinson more time to build the case or settle outside of court, which is an option.
Where Will Wallen Be During These Four Months?
Wallen is starting the European leg of his One Night At A Time tour. His first stop being in Stockholm, Sweden, on August 28th. He is finishing this leg of the tour in time for his December court date, with his current last show scheduled for October 19th in Charlotte, NC.
