NASCAR Driver Escorted From Track By Security

Making the biggest fuss in the media this weekend was one well-known driver who had to be escorted off of the track by security guards following Saturday’s NASCAR race in Daytona Beach.

After causing two major wrecks on the track during the 2018 Coke Zero Sugar 400, and being involved in three more – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. became the only driver that was required to be escorted off the track by security personnel.

NASCAR reported that a handful of drivers were angry at Stenhouse for his actions and even more fans were outraged at the utter chaos on the track. NASCAR states that because of the contention toward Stenhouse, the track and NASCAR both decided that he should be escorted off the track by security guards “to ensure his safety.”

While they did it to ensure his safety, Stenhouse did accept responsibility for the first two crashes that he caused. In the report by NASCAR’s Zack Albert, Stenhouse admitted that he was being aggressive – something many fans and industry pros think was going too far.

“No, it’s aggressive speedway racing,” Stenhouse said. “We needed to win to get in the Playoffs, so it is what it is.”

After the race, no matter the opinion on what Ricky Stenhouse Jr. did on the track – there were quite a few jokes made about the situation. And who doesn’t love a good chuckle?

Take a look at the funny tweets below and let us know what you think about how the race went down in the comments.
