Country Singer Ned LeDoux Just Released His Most Personal Album Yet

On Friday, April 4, Ned LeDoux released his fifth studio album of his career. Titled Safe Haven, the album is named after his two-year-old daughter who passed died from a choking accident in 2019.

Ned is the son of rodeo legend and country star Chris LeDoux, who sadly passed away in March 2005, four months after being diagnosed with bile duct cancer.

Due to the tragedy Ned has faced, he knew he had two choices: “drown in the sorrow or turn these lives gone too soon into music.”

He chose the latter and decided to use “the memories of those he has lost to help him carry on with joy, celebration, and faith that they are guiding his work.”

Safe Haven includes 12 extremely personal songs, including a duet with his late father.

Prior to releasing the album, Ned dropped three singles, “One Hand In The Riggin’,” a previously unreleased duet with his dad, “Boys Growing Up,” an ode to his brothers, and “Real As I Believe,” which is an inspirational song about seeing his daughter again.

A standout song on the album is “My Father’s Boots,” a clear nod to his legendary father. Between “My Father’s Boots,” his duet with his dad, “Haven’s Lullaby,” and “Real As I Believe,” Ned has never been so vulnerable.

Of the emotional songs, he says, “Music can be a powerful thing. It opened me up and exposed me in ways I never expected. Very spiritual for sure.”
