6-year-old Finn Daly is a boy living with Down Syndrome and autism. He loves watching the red, white, and blue colors of the flag moving in the wind. His parents take him for daily walks through their Connecticut neighborhood, with many pauses to check out flags.

One of Finn’s favorite flags belongs to his neighbor, Todd Disque. Disque noticed that Finn loved watching his flag and he decided to support the 6-year-old. He took to his toolbox and created a bench with the inscription Finn’s Bench. He placed the bench in front of his house in perfect view of the flag, so Finn had a comfortable place to watch Old Glory waving in the wind.

Finn’s parents, Kevin and Brooke, were moved to tears by the sweet gesture. Brooke said, “It’s such a small gesture, but things like this really restore your faith in humanity. Like, there’s still good people out there that want to do kind things for no other reason than just to be kind.

This small act of kindness will not be soon forgotten by the Daly family.
