Riley Strain’s Family Shares Why He Was Asked To Leave 32 Bridge

Riley’s family spoke with News Nation to share more details about his disappearance. When asked why Riley was directed to leave 32 Bridge, his stepfather Christopher Whiteid said the bartender told them he’d been “overserved.”

When they took [Riley] out, his friend was trying to go out with him, but they would not let him at that point,” Christopher said.

The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) announced they are investigating whether 32 Bridge should have been accountable for ensuring Riley made it to his destination safely. TABC released the following statement:

There are no specific rules or statutes that governs escorting out intoxicated patrons from their businesses or providing assistance in getting someone home. However, state law prohibits serving alcoholic beverages to someone who is visibly intoxicated. A violation is a class A misdemeanor. The TABC has opened an investigation into this matter to see if any violations have occurred.

Newly Released Surveillance Video & 9-1-1 Call Shed Light On Riley Strain’s Disappearance

Now, newly released video and audio from a 9-1-1 call offer insight into Riley’s disappearance. NewsChannel 5 out of Nashville shared both pieces of media.

Employees at Music City Wine and Spirits on Church Street checked their surveillance cameras at the urging of Riley’s mother. The cameras happened to catch Riley as he walked around Third Avenue and onto Church Street.

The cameras at Music City Wine and Spirits filmed Riley from two angles. The first angle shows him as he appears to be running down the sidewalk, before stumbling and running into a pole. Riley stayed on the ground for a moment before getting back up on his feet.

The second angle shows Riley seemingly struggling on his way down Church Street.

A Metro Police camera picked up Riley from a third angle. This camera shows him crossing First Avenue at the spot where Church Street turns into Gay Street by the Cumberland River. Riley was filmed looking around before continuing in the river’s direction.

The footage from the third angle is the last known time Riley was captured on camera.

NewsChannel 5 also shared audio from the 9-1-1 call when Riley’s friend, Brayden Baltz, reported him missing on March 9. Riley’s friends waited until that day to report him missing because they originally believed he made it back to his hotel on the night of March 8.
