San Francisco 49ers Player Christian McCaffrey Had A Big Weekend
Even though running back Christian McCaffrey did not play in the Super Bowl, he certainly made headlines over the first weekend in February!
On February 5, he won 2025 Comeback Player at the NFL Honors, which was well-deserved after he had a PCL injury in the 2024 season, which cut his season short. He returned in 2025 and recorded 2,126 scrimmage yards, which were the most by a San Francisco 49er in 20 years.
He also had 311 carries for 1,202 rushing yards, 10 rushing touchdowns, 102 receptions for 924 receiving yards, and seven receiving touchdowns.
The NFL Honors are held every year during Super Bowl week to recognize the league’s best players and coaches with awards including Most Valuable Player, Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.
When McCaffrey won Comeback Player if the Year, he delivered a “wholesome” speech, thanking his wife, Olivia Culpo, their daughter Colette, and God.
He credited his faith as a source of strength that he has used to get through the hard times he has faced in his life. McCaffrey said, “Last but not least I want to thank God. Gotten through a lot of dark days in my faith. Kept me going, kept me up, every single day…God bless.”

Performers for that event included Zach Bryan, Teddy Swims, Stephen Wilson Jr., Gavin Adcock, and LaRussell.
Zach Bryan replaced Luke Combs, who dropped out of the event one day before it took place due to a family matter. He said, “So sorry to miss y’all at Madden Bow, but family always comes first. Have a great time.”
Combs’s wife, Nicole, is nearing the end of her third pregnancy, so fans believe the baby is on the way. Seeing as he missed the birth of his second child due to him being on tour and the baby coming earlier than expected, there is no way that he’d miss another one.
Bryan stepped in at the last minute and performed a 15-song set list, which included live debuts of his songs “Appetite,” Say Why,” and “Bad News.”
McCaffrey joined Bryan on stage for a few songs including “Something In The Orange,” Say Why,” and “Revival.” According to reports, Bryan’s piano player couldn’t make it so they called McCaffrey!
