Just when we thought we had seen it all, a restaurant in North Carolina is offering a hamburger topped with a most unconventional topping….an oven-roasted tarantula. But, it’s not as easy to get as one might think.
Bull City Burger and Brewery in Durham is offering the $30 Tarantula Burger that features a pasture-raised beef burger topped with Gruyere cheese, spicy chili sauce and a crispy, oven-roasted tarantula. But, in order to score one of thespe unique burgers, patrons must enter a raffle. Winners are announced daily while tarantula supplies last, and they are only available during April, Exotic Meat Month.
No need to worry if tarantulas aren’t quite your cup of tea. Bull City Burger will be offering an array of exotic meats ranging from alligator, camel and python to Rocky Mountain oysters, reindeer and ostrich. For those with a sweet tooth, chocolate covered bugs will be offered as a topping for their homemade ice cream.
