The 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards were held on Monday (Sep 12) and boy, were they star-studded. SNL legend Kenan Thompson hosted the affair and helped honor the best of the best in television over the past year.

Countless awards were given out, history was made, and the program paid tribute to all the stars who we lost this past year.

Musician – and The Voice coach – John Legend came out to perform his new single “Pieces,” a song about grief and loss. Late TV stars were given tributes on the screen behind Legend’s piano.

Greats like Betty White, Vin Scully, Nichelle Nichols, Bob Saget, James Caan, Ray Liotta, and Sidney Poitier were all included, among many others. Of course, some people who passed away this last year were left out and people online were very vocal about it.

One of the people who fans felt were snubbed by the In Memoriam segment was Olivia Newton-John. See some of their reactions below.

According to MSN, Olivia Newton-John’s publicist Michael Caprio says he is “very disappointed” that she was left out of the In Memoriam segment. He says that even though she is known as a musican and star of the movie musical Grease, she has an “‘extensive track record in Hollywood and especially on TV.”

Her TV credits range from Dancing With The Stars, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Glee, American Idol, and Saturday Night Live. She even had a few ABC specials.
