The Grand Ole Opry Celebrates Its 100th Anniversary

Few stages will ever carry the prestige of the Grand Ole Opry. Beginning in 1925, the Opry has been the setting of some of the most iconic moments in country music history.

The famed radio show went on to become known as the show that made country music famous. As the program grew in popularity, it consequently outgrew venues one after another.

From 1943 to 1974, the Grand Ole Opry took up residence in the historic Ryman Auditorium. In 1974, it moved to its current home, a 4,400-seat concert house that allowed the show the space to grow and evolve.

On March 19, 2025, more than 40 artists gathered at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee, for Opry 100: A Live Celebration. Hosted by Opry member Blake Shelton, the event was livestreamed so fans everywhere could celebrate the 100th anniversary of the prestigious institution.

Reba McEntire opened the show with a tribute to Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn. Carly Pearce channeled Dolly Parton, who was unable to attend the event, with a performance of “Jolene.”

Lainey Wilson and Marty Stuart joined forces for two special duets – Hank Williams’ “Lost Highway” and Lainey’s own “Things A Man Oughta Know.”

Carrie Underwood honored Randy Travis with an emotional rendition of “Forever and Ever, Amen” that left the audience in tears.
