McCollum’s team confirmed that Schoepf’s employment was terminated the instant the singer learned of the manager’s arrest, according to Taste of Country.

McCollum has not made a statement regarding this incident.

Who Is Joel Schoepf & Why Was He Arrested?

According to his LinkedIn page, Joel Schoepf was McCollum’s road manager from February 2023 until his recent firing in November. Before that, he was McCollum’s guitar tech. Before working for McCollum, Schoepf was the Production Manager for Luck Reunion, Willie Nelson’s annual concert for his fan club, Club Luck, since 2013.

Schoepf was arrested in New Braunfels, Texas after being targeted in a sting operation by the online group Predator Poachers led by online personality Alex Rosen. While the group is controversial, they do work with law enforcement to ensure the validity of their cases.

In the operation with Schoepf, police were on scene and arrested him. Rosen told the camera that Schoepf was allegedly at the location to meet up with a young boy who he believed to be 13 years old. On video, Schoepf confessed to things that are incredibly disturbing regarding child p*rn.

While officers probably wanted to throw the book at him for the disturbing nature of his confessions, the only charge they could make stick was soliciting a minor under the age of 14.

Schoepf was released the following day on a $50,000 bond. It is not clear when he is due in court.
