Country Singer Parker McCollum Celebrates Trump’s Inauguration With Performance At Commander-In-Chief Ball
ACM Award-winning country artist Parker McCollum had the opportunity to honor Donald Trump at the Commander-in-Chief Ball following his inauguration on Monday (January 20). Trump was recognized at multiple official balls that evening, including the Starlight Ball and the Liberty Ball.
The Commander-In-Chief Ball is specifically tailored to military service members. Per CBS News, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump entered the ball and shared a dance to Elvis Presley‘s “American Trilogy.”
Trump also delivered a speech during the ball, saying:
“I’ve had no higher privilege in life than to serve as your commander-in-chief, not once but twice.”
Country trio Rascal Flatts performed at the Commander-in-Chief Ball, delivering their first performance since reuniting. The band went on hiatus in 2020.
Parker McCollum also performed during the Commander-in-Chief Ball. The Texas native used the opportunity to honor the late Toby Keith, who passed away in 2024.
McCollum covered Keith’s iconic patriotic hit, “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue.” Footage attributed to PBS News Hour and reposted by other outlets shows McCollum singing a cappella at first before launching into the song’s powerful chorus.
Many attendees had their phones out to film McCollum’s performance, and could be heard cheering and singing along.
McCollum is no stranger to singing Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue.” He’s covered the song multiple times since his passing in February 2024.
Most notably, he closed out the Toby Keith: American Icon tribute concert by performing the song. All of the other participants joined him onstage and sang along.
Toby Keith Previously Sang “Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue” At Trump’s First Inauguration
Parker McCollum’s performance at the Commander-in-Chief Ball was a fitting tribute to Toby Keith, considering how much he loved the USA. Keith performed for multiple presidents throughout his life, including Trump.
Keith was one of the artists who recognized Trump during his first inauguration in 2017. He performed during the “Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration.”
His set included some of his most patriotic songs, such as “American Solider” and “Made In America.” Keith also performed “Beer for My Horses,” his 2003 duet with Willie Nelson.
Of course, Keith included “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” in his set as well. Watch the video below to see his performance.
We’re sure Keith would have been proud to know McCollum was sharing his song to celebrate another presidential inauguration.
