Police Officer Dedicates ‘Lip Sync Challenge’ Video To Fallen Officers

In 2018, the mega-viral Lip Sync Challenge that first responders have been posting swept the nation. Everyone from police officers, sheriffs, and fire fighters are getting in on the fun.
Not Your Average Lip Sync Video
One police officer named Steven Block decided to participate in this fun challenge, but instead wanted to do something a little different with his. While most videos we’ve seen are happy-go-lucky videos, Block wanted to dedicate his to the fallen law enforcement officers that have made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting their communities.
His video began with some text that read, “On average every 53 hours a Law Enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty.”
Country singer Cole Swindell’s heart-tugging song “You Should Be Here” rang out as Block sat in his patrol song lip syncing every emotional lyric.
We got the chills when he powerfully mouthed, “You should be here, standing with your arm around me here/Cutting up, cracking a cold beer/Saying cheers, hey y’all it’s sure been a good year/It’s one of those moments, that’s got your name written all over it/And you know that if I had just one wish it’d/Be that you didn’t have to miss this/You should be here.”
Pulling On Our Heartstrings
The video went back and forth between footage of Block lip syncing and emotional photos of fallen officers’ funerals, photos, and tributes. It is one of the best Lip Sync Challenge videos we’ve seen, and we aren’t alone. The video has been viewed on Facebook over six million times. Cole Swindell himself even came across it, and shared it.
“This is a beautiful tribute to some of our fallen police officers,” he wrote accompanying the video. “I’m humbled that y’all chose #YouShouldBeHere for it. My prayers are with you.”
We love that Block did his video a little differently and decided to dedicate it to all the fallen law enforcement officers. Watch his incredible Lip Sync Challenge by pressing play below.
