Post Malone Released A Song With Ozzy Osbourne In 2019, Titled “Take What You Want”

A few years ago, Post Malone got the chance to record a song with Ozzy Osbourne, and he’ll always be in awe of that experience.

While Post has turned toward country music with the release of his 2024 album F-1 Trillion, he previously dabbled with other genres. In 2019, Post released his third studio album, Hollywood’s Bleeding, labeled a rap, pop, and hip-hop project.

The record won an American Music Award for Favorite Album – Rap/Hip-Hop and the Billboard Music Award for Top Rap Album. Additionally, it received a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year.

Hollywood’s Bleeding featured several collaborators, including Ozzy, who contributed to track #9, “Take What You Want.” The song also featured rapper Travis Scott.

“Take What You Want” was released as the sixth single from Hollywood’s Bleeding. The song peaked at #8 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart. It marked Ozzy’s first Top 10 appearance on the Hot 100 in over 30 years.

The song has since been certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA.

The following year (2020), Ozzy included “Take What You Want” as a bonus track on his album Ordinary Man. That album also featured a new song with Post, called “It’s a Raid.”

Post Malone Remembers Meeting “The Prince Of Darkness”

Post Malone and Ozzy Osbourne didn’t record their vocals together while creating “Take What You Want.” It turns out, Post didn’t meet “The Prince of the Darkness” until after the song’s release.

They met for the first time at The Forum in Los Angeles, where they performed their collaboration for the thrilled crowd.

In his concert film, Post Malone: Runaway, Post recalled what was running through his mind when he finally met Ozzy in person. He said he was more nervous to meet him behind-the-scenes than he was to sing with him onstage.

I was nervous meeting him,” he admitted. “Not as much performing…meeting him is terrifying. Because, you know, what the f*** do you say to Ozzy Osbourne? You know? ‘I like your pants.’ I don’t know. You have no idea what the f*** to say to him.”

Post was also in disbelief that he got to record a song with Ozzy in the first place.

“It’s mind-blowing, it’s absolutely f****** mind-blowing…being able to work with one of the biggest dudes in f****** rock and roll history.”

A clip of Post talking about his first meeting with Ozzy resurfaced after the rock and roll legend passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. You can watch that video below.

Ozzy’s family confirmed the news of his death in an emotional statement, writing, “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.
