The Grand Ole Opry Celebrates Its 100th Birthday
To mark its 100th anniversary, the Grand Ole Opry hosted a massive celebration, bringing together some of the biggest stars in country music to honor the venue’s milestone birthday. The event was aired live during a television special titled Opry 100.
The event featured Opry members and special guest performances. Some were even once-in-a-lifetime duets between them. One standout moment was when Post Malone and Travis Tritt teamed up for a duet of Tritt’s song, T.R.O.U.B.L.E.
T.R.O.U.B.L.E was originally released in 1992 as the title track of Tritt’s third studio album. His version was inspired by Elvis Presley’s hit of the same name.
In fact, the song was released not long after Tritt was officially inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. He made his debut at the venue in 1991 and was a regular performer prior.
According to Opry’s website, legendary country star Roy Acuff took notice of Tritt and told him that he wanted to see him play there more often. Just a year later, Tritt became a member.
Post Malone, who released his first country album last year, is also no stranger to the iconic Opry stage. He made his debut on August 14, 2024, after being invited by member Brad Paisley. Paisley extended the invitation through a video posted on the Opry’s Instagram page.
