Navarone Garibaldi has lived quite the life. His mom is one of the most recognized celebrities, but he managed to live a private life. His mom, of course, is Priscilla Presley, making him the half-sibling of the late Lisa Marie Presley. Navarone was born when Lisa Marie Presley was 20 years old, so while they are siblings, they did not grow up together. In fact, Navarone grew up with Lisa Marie’s daughter, Riley, who is just two years younger than him.

Following his sister’s unexpected death, Navarone took to Instagram to mourn her. He shared a decades-old photo of the pair and wrote, “Big sister… i hope you are now at peace and happy with your Dad and your son by your side. I know the past couple years weren’t easy for you, and I wish things had been different between us. regardless, you are my sister and I’m sending love and prayers for your journey home. I still can’t believe this, I’m lost for words. Love you sis.”

Besides being Lisa Marie’s brother, and Priscilla’s son, not much is known about Navarone…and he’s the first one to acknowledge that. In a brand-new interview with PEOPLE, he said, “A lot of people know about me. But they don’t know me.”

While he was a late teen, he moved away from home, but returned to LA in 2012 to pursue a music career with his band Them Guns. They are now set to release a single, titled “Acid Plane,” on Friday (February 1), which is likely the reason he is doing press now.

During his interview with PEOPLE. Navarone revealed a drug addiction that began when he was a teenager. It started with heroin, but over time, he became addicted to fentanyl, which is a synthetic opioid that is 50-100 times stronger than morphine.

“I was under the impression I was doing heroin, but then it’d turn out to be fentanyl,” he told PEOPLE. “That was a whole different beast. I became so addicted that I’d need it every 45 minutes.”

Navarone got clean in 2020, partly so he could go visit his now-wife, Elisa, as she was living in her home country of Switzerland at the time.

He explained, “When COVID happened, I wanted to go there and see her for more than three or four days. I didn’t want to have to bring a pound of fentanyl with me anywhere I went. I buckled down and said, ‘Let’s see how bad this can get.'”

Navarone spent a month at his mother’s house detoxing before his trip.

“I was pretty much in my bed in the fetal position all day. It feels like a different lifetime, almost. The whole world got a lot better [afterward],” he remembers.

According to his social media, he visited Elise in Switzerland on December 10th, 2020 and on Christmas Day, they were engaged.

They were married in February 2022.

Not only is his band releasing new music, they also have high hopes of going on an international tour. He said, “There were some points where I didn’t think I’d make it here. ‘m so proud of how far I’ve come.”
