On Wednesday (January 21), The Wrap published the ratings for the Season 2 finale of Landman…and the numbers are impressive.
According to the data, the episode generated 14.8 million global views in just two days. In doing so, it managed to draw the largest audience Paramount+ has ever seen for a season finale on its platform.
Additionally, the Season 2 finale of Landman saw a 70% increase in viewership compared to Season 1’s finale.
The Wrap reports that the first nine episodes of Landman‘s second season averaged 14.9 million global views within seven days of their release. This marked a 58% increase in viewership from Season 1. These numbers have made Landman the most popular series on Paramount+.
Landman Has Already Been Renewed For A Third Season
With such a massive audience, it came as no surprise that Landman got renewed for a third season. The show shared the renewal news in December, 19 days after Season 2 premiered.

In the wake of Landman‘s renewal, a fake, AI-generated video emerged that made it seem like Billy Bob Thornton announced his departure from the show.
The video went viral. Although some fans didn’t fall for the fakery, it tricked others into thinking that Thornton truly left Landman.
Thornton took it upon himself to set the record straight:
“It’s all just AI-generated crap,” he told USA Today, calling the fake video “goofy stuff.” He added, “Some stupid AI thing that came out where it wasn’t me at all.”
Thornton also saw a fake report that he’s dating his co-star Demi Moore. He dismissed that too, saying, “There’s an AI report that Demi and I are a couple now…They have nothing to do with reality.“
One thing that is part of reality? Landman seems poised for another successful season after the ratings went through the roof for the Season 2 finale! Catch a behind-the-scenes look at the episode below.
