Reba McEntire performed the National Anthem before this year’s Super Bowl game on February 11.

The country superstar had been announced as Super Bowl LVIII’s anthem singer on January 18.

“I was honored to be part of something as big and historic as the Super Bowl coming to Las Vegas for the first time.”

Reba joined the ranks as the 10th country artist to grace the Super Bowl stage with her rendition of the National Anthem. Among the esteemed performers before her were Chris Stapleton, Mickey Guyton, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, The Chicks, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, and Charley Pride.

“We’re prepared. We’re ready to go,” Reba told TODAY ahead of the game. “I’ve got my outfit picked out, thanks to Ralph Lauren,” she added. “I’m really excited.”

When it came to feeling nervous about performing at the major event, Reba expressed, “I’m not that nervous, because, you know, it’s not about me when I sing the National Anthem.”

Whenever she sings the song, Reba said she thinks about “every man and woman around the world who has always fought for our freedom and continued to pray for peace.”

On a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Reba shared what the honor meant to her.

“Getting to sing the National Anthem, 50 years after I started singing the National Anthem, it’s a gift of, you know…But it’s not about me. I’m out there singing, but it’s not about me. It’s about the song and hoping to reunite all the division that’s going on in the world, in our country, and hopefully, that will heal hearts. And I kind of think sometimes that’s why I’m on the earth. If it’s to heal one heart, then great.”
