Victoria Jones, The 34-Year-Old Daughter Of Coal Miner’s Daughter Star Tommy Lee Jones, Has Died
Victoria Jones, the daughter of actor Tommy Lee Jones, was found deceased in a San Francisco hotel on New Year’s Day.
Victoria’s identity remained unconfirmed at first. But by Friday afternoon (January 2), the San Francisco Fire Department confirmed with The Hollywood Reporter that Victoria was the 34-year-old woman “found unresponsive at the Fairmont Hotel.”
TMZ, citing anonymous “law enforcement sources,” reports that Victoria was found in the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco on Thursday morning (January 1). TMZ reports that the Medical Examiner’s office and the San Francisco Police took control of the scene to conduct their investigation.
Later, TMZ obtained and released the dispatch audio related to the incident. The person speaking on the clip referred to the situation as a “code 3 for the overdose, color change.”
The “color change” part of the audio likely refers to cyanosis. The Mayo Clinic describes cyanosis as a phenomenon that “occurs when your blood lacks the oxygen it needs to reach the different tissues in your body.”
An official cause of death has not been released.
Victoria Jones’ Family Releases Statement About Her Death
The San Francisco Fire Department spoke with PEOPLE about the incident. The department confirmed they responded to a medical emergency at the Fairmont Hotel shortly before 3 AM on New Year’s Day.
PEOPLE also spoke with the San Francisco Police Department. The department confirmed that authorities responded to a call at the Fairmont on New Year’s Day. Police said they met paramedics at the scene, where they “declared an unnamed adult female dead.”
NBC Bay Area claims to have spoken to “a police source with direct knowledge of the investigation.” The source told NBC, “police do not suspect foul play” in the case.
The Fairmont Hotel provided the following statement to the outlet.
“We are deeply saddened by an incident that occurred at the hotel on January 1, 2026. Our heartfelt condolences are with the family and loved ones during this very difficult time. The hotel team is actively cooperating and supporting police authorities within the framework of the ongoing investigation.“
Later on Friday (January 2), Victoria’s family provided the following statement to the press:
“We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.”
About Victoria Jones
Tommy Lee Jones’ daughter, Victoria, was one of his two children. She was born to Tommy and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. Kimberlea and Tommy also share a son, 43-year-old Austin Jones.
Tommy, who is known for his roles in No Country for Old Men, The Fugitive, Double Jeopardy, JFK, and the Loretta Lynn biopic Coal Miner’s Daughter, inspired Victoria to start acting at a young age. She made her acting debut in Men in Black II in 2002 (which also starred her father).
Additionally, Victoria appeared in the film The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada. Tommy directed the project. She also starred in an episode of One Tree Hill in 2003.
“She’s a good actress, has her SAG card, speaks impeccable Spanish…” Tommy told The New Yorker when speaking about Victoria in 2006. “When she was a baby, I told Leticia, her nurse, to speak to her in Spanish.”
