Riley Green is celebrating a wildly successful hunting trip!

The Alabama native has never been shy about his love for hunting and the outdoors. That passion even inspired the name of his Nashville bar, Riley Green’s Duck Blind. Green recently headed to Utah for a bowhunting adventure, where he set his sights on a massive bull elk.

Utah is home to tens of thousands of elk, and state wildlife officials work to keep the population at healthy, sustainable levels. For hunters, getting the chance to pursue one of these animals comes with a price tag. Elk tags cost a few hundred dollars depending on whether the hunter is a Utah resident or coming from out of state.

For hunters like Green, that means a successful elk hunt is about more than bringing home meat. The sport is part of a tightly regulated system designed to manage the state’s wildlife population.

His latest Utah trip also comes as the “Worst Way” singer continues a packed run of performances. In the photos and video he shared from the trip, Green showed off the stunning mountain scenery he and his hunting party got to take in while searching for the bull.

A few days surrounded by views like that would make for a pretty great getaway. But Green didn’t go home empty handed. After tracking the animal through the mountains, he managed to get within range and took the massive elk down with his compound bow.

And bowhunting an elk is no simple feat. Getting close enough for a clean shot means avoiding detection by an animal that can spot or hear danger from a considerable distance.

“Freezer is full,” Green wrote in his social media post. The country star said he was thankful for the few days he was able to spend chasing elk in the Utah mountains and for the opportunity to take down such an impressive bull.

It seems safe to say Riley Green is talented at just about anything he does. Take a look at the photos from his impressive hunt below:
