It Has Never Been Confirmed By Either Singer, But There Have Been Rumors That Megan Moroney And Riley Green Dated For Some Time

Megan Moroney and Riley Green are two of the biggest stars in country music right now. There was a time where fans believe they were romantically linked, although neither has confirmed or denied these claims.

Rumor has it that Green was also wooing his duet partner, Ella Langley, around the same time and there was a love triangle situation that happened. Again, nobody has confirmed or denied anything.

Both Moroney and Langley have played into these rumors, with Moroney once commenting on a fan who was wearing a shirt that featured a shirtless Riley Green on it, “Need the shirt.”

To make things more interesting, Langley spotted a sign at one of her shows that read, “Wink if Riley’s a dumba–,” and she winked right at the fan, further speculating on their supposed romance.

Green and Moroney were once spotted on vacation together, though both have said they merely ran into each other while vacationing separate, but they were seen at an airport together and driving in his car at some point.

The 2025 CMA Awards Added More Fuel To The Fire

At the 2025 CMA Awards, Green and Langley were up for several awards for their duets “you look like you love me” and “Don’t Mind If I Do,” and took home two awards.

As the duo made their way to the stage, the camera cut to Moroney, who fans think looked upset.

A TikTok user annagrace0 filmed the moment and wrote, “You can’t tell me there wasn’t anything going on based on the look on Megan’s face…

@annagrace0

Fans also pointed out the possible tension between Langley and Green, with the “Dandelion” singer not waiting for him to walk up on stage together, and her barely acknowledging him once up there to accept the award.

“Oh they hate each other,” one viewer wrote.

Megan Moroney Released A Song Allegedly About Green

Moroney released her new album, Cloud 9, on Friday, February 20. One of the 15 songs is a track titled “Who Hurt You?”

After listening to the song, fans believe it is about Green due to some of the lyrics referencing some things we do know about him. Moroney sings about the devil going down to Georgia, where she is from, but then going back to Bama, where Green is famously from.

The song also includes the lyrics:

“You said you needed less flashy, more fun
Oh, of course she’s twenty-one
On your arm through the bar
God, I hate how gross you are”

At the 2025 CMA Awards, Green brought a date named Bryana Ferringer, who is reportedly 21 years old. She is also the ex-girlfriend of country singer Tucker Wetmoore, who also released a song about their drama, but that’s a story for another time.

Take a listen to “Who Hurt You?” below.

Riley Green Seemingly Released A Response To Megan’s New Song

In the late hours of Friday, February 20th, Green took to social media to perform a song he likely just wrote in response to Moroney’s song about him.

He captioned the video, “POS like me” along with the hashtags “#weouthere #backonthefarm #homesweethome #countrymusic #yallhaveagoodone”

Some of the lyrics he sang include: “You can call me every name, you can blame it all on me. You can say I’m an SOB, hell I might be.”

He finished the song by singing:

“Drink a little cold beer, every hunting season I disappear
You hated my dog I guess you hated my songs, hell you hated it way out here.
One day you’re gonna try, but you ain’t never gonna find another low down, no good, rusted truck-drivin’, Waffle House-eatin’, overall-wearing piece of sh-t like me.”

The comments on his video were flooded with fans freaking out about his response, and enjoying the drama from afar.

“You guys have made this an extra spicy Friday,” one fan wrote, while many others posted tea drinking and popcorn eating gifs.

Watch Riley’s response below.

What do you think? Do you think both songs are connected?! The timing is too crazy to not be….right? Let us know in the comments.
