It’s refreshing to see so many country artists maintain genuine friendships despite the competitiveness and demands of the music industry. Riley Green and Carly Pearce are two stars who have built a close friendship over the years.

That friendship eventually led to a musical collaboration, with Carly joining Riley for his song “If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay.”

The song quickly caught fans’ attention, especially after its steamy music video showed the two playing a couple tangled in a complicated and passionate relationship.

And now, Riley Green and Carly Pearce are teaming up once again… but this time, on the set of The Voice.

Riley’s joined a long list of country stars who have taken a seat in one of iconic red chairs. Over the years, the show has welcomed some of country music’s biggest names as coaches, including Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire.

Along with the coaches, each season, a guest advisor on The Voice works alongside the contestants to prepare them for the competition. Advisors use their own experience in the music industry to offer guidance on everything from song choices and vocal performances to stage presence and connecting with an audience.

While the main coach remains responsible for their team, an advisor provides an additional perspective and can work directly with contestants during rehearsals.

Country artists including Darius Rucker, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, and Brad Paisley have all lent their experience to the show in various mentoring roles.

Billboard reports that Carly will now be joining Riley in his new role as a coach on the singing competition, serving as a mentor for his team.

And the choice to pick Carly, according to Riley, was an easy one.

“I’ve been a huge fan of her long before I even had a record deal and came to [Nashville],” Riley told the outlet. “Then, obviously we had the duet together and I just think we were kind of having such a moment with that and the music video, when this came up, she was just a really obvious choice for me.”

With several country singers competing on Riley’s team, Carly plans to use her experience to help the contestants bring out their individual strengths. Rather than simply pointing out what needs improvement, she admits she wants to offer constructive feedback while encouraging each artist to embrace what makes them unique.

Carly’s upcoming appearance on the show isn’t her first time helping contestants behind the scenes. She previously served as a playoff advisor in 2024, working alongside coach Michael Bublé. Carly will return for multiple episodes this season, appearing in episodes airing Oct. 6, 12-13, 19 and 26.
