Rising country star Waylon Wyatt is on the road to recovery after a serious battle with sepsis nearly claimed his life and forced him to put several major career moments on hold.
The 19-year-old recently gave fans a glimpse of his debut album, sharing a video featuring the record and announcing that Dustpiles vinyl copies are now available for purchase. In the caption, Wyatt wrote, “We shot this before I bout died but Dustpiles Vinyl are available to order now!! Get ’em while they’re hot!”
Wyatt Gives An Update On His Sepsis Recovery
Earlier this week, Wyatt provided an update on his condition, revealing that he had been released from a Montana hospital and traveled to Nashville to continue receiving medical care as he focuses on his recovery.
“Hey y’all wanted to give a little update on everything,” Wyatt wrote on Instagram. “I got out of the hospital in Montana earlier this week and have been in Nashville with family seeing specialists this week. I’m so grateful to be on the mend and can’t tell y’all how much I appreciate all y’alls support through this.”
The young country singer was forced to postpone a few milestone performances, including his big debut at the Grand Ole Opry.
“It broke my heart to have to cancel the dustpiles release show, UTBS [Under the Big Sky Festival] and my Opry debut that was supposed to be tonight. Those were bucket list shows for me but I’ll do everything I can to get back to big sky and we’ll have a new Opry date for y’all soon.”
The health crisis came on July 17, the exact day Wyatt released his highly anticipated debut album, Dustpiles.
Instead of marking the occasion with a performance or celebration, the 19-year-old artist found himself sharing an update from a hospital bed after being diagnosed with sepsis.
“Album’s still dropping tonight,” Wyatt told fans in the video. “Ya boy’s got sepsis.”
