Ryan Argast Joins Team Dan + Shay With Unique Cover Of “Speechless” On ‘The Voice’

During the Season 25 premiere of The Voice, Ryan Argast stole the spotlight with his cover of Dan + Shay’s hit “Speechless.”

Ryan Argast Sings “Speechless” During Blind Audition

Stepping onto The Voice stage during the Season 25 premiere, aspiring singer Ryan Argast seized the moment to showcase his talents to the coaches. Making a bold move for his blind audition, he performed the hit song “Speechless” by judges Dan + Shay. Ryan immediately piqued the interest of Dan + Shay, the newest additions to the show and the first-ever duo coaches. With his raspy country twang, he captured the essence of the song while giving the track his own spin. Despite only one coach turning their chair for his performance, it turned out to be the most crucial one for Ryan— the double chair of Dan + Shay.

“That was risky, but it paid off. I knew exactly what I was listening for, and you were the magic we were looking for,” Shay told Ryan.

Dan chimed in, praising Ryan’s authenticity and how he personalized the song.

“The beginning was true to form, super sexy, super R&B, and when that chorus hit, you made it your own. I’ll be thinking about that performance every time we sing that song now,” he added.

And although the rest of the panel chose not to turn their chairs for Ryan, they only had good things to say about his audition. John Legend, recognizing the uniqueness of Ryan’s voice, shared his positive thoughts, noting, “I love the texture of your voice. I love that it feels like it’s breaking but it’s strong at the same time.”

Returning judge Reba McEntire also spoke up, saying, “You’re going to have such a good time with these two over here. They are knowledgeable, they are such great singers, song writers. So sorry I missed out on it but you’re going to have fun with them.”

Dan + Shay Join Ryan On Stage

While joining Dan + Shay’s team was exactly what Ryan hoped for, the excitement didn’t stop there for his audition. To his surprise, John Legend successfully convinced Dan + Shay to join Ryan for a special three-person rendition of “Speechless.” The trio graced the stage, delivering a memorable and celebratory performance, further solidifying Ryan’s place on Team Dan + Shay.

Overall, Ryan Argast’s rendition of “Speechless” not only secured him a spot on Team Dan + Shay but also showcased the excitement and talent fans can look forward to in Season 25 of The Voice.
