Missing Loved Ones
During the holidays, most people are able to come home and see their families. They are surrounded by loved ones as presents are opened in cheerful bliss. However, not everyone gets the chance to see their families for important holidays and events.
Our military men and women are often separated from their loved ones during this time of year. Whether they are deployed or stationed in a different city and unable to take leave – not having them there is difficult for everyone involved.
A Special Gift
For one mother, knowing her daughter wouldn’t be home was hard to take. Sitting on the couch, her family members surround her in support with a large, thin gift. One woman holds it in front of her and asks her to stand up and open it saying, “I just want to make it really special for you.”
Wiping away tears, the woman stands up and starts opening the present – only to reveal a mirror! Little did she know, her daughter had snuck in behind and was standing in the background.
Home For The Holidays
All you could hear was the mother’s excitement as she realized her daughter was going to be home for the holidays. It is moments like this that truly warm your heart while bringing tears to your eyes.
