Emmy nominations were announced Tuesday (July 12). Yellowstone fans were upset to see the series was snubbed once again…it didn’t receive any nominations, nor did any of its actors.

Its prequel series, 1883, did receive three nods. It was nominated twice for Outstanding Cinematography for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie and received one nomination for Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

Congratulations to the team behind #1883TV on their #Emmy nominations – including Original Dramatic Score and two for Outstanding Cinematography!1883 wrote in a celebratory post on its official social media pages.

However, 1883 was not nominated for any of the major awards. That means its stars were also snubbed from being nominated in the various Best Actor/Actress categories.

Fans were outraged on behalf of the show’s main cast, including Isabel May (Elsa Dutton), Sam Elliott (Shea Brennan), Tim McGraw (James Dutton), Faith Hill (Margaret Dutton), and LaMonica Garrett (Thomas).

People were especially upset to see Sam’s performance was overlooked. You can read a few fans’ reactions to the news below.

At least 1883 did receive three nominations, and they were well-earned! We’ll be rooting for the show to win in the two categories it was nominated in.

What do y’all think about this year’s Emmy nominations? Were you surprised to see that both Yellowstone and 1883 were snubbed?
