Savannah Guthrie’s Mother Remains Missing
Over three months have passed since Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reported missing on February 1. To this day, the investigation into her disappearance remains active. Authorities believe she may have been abducted late at night from her home in Tucson, Arizona.
Despite extensive efforts, investigators have not identified any strong suspects or major leads. Family members, friends, and supporters continue raising awareness and sharing her story in the hope that new information will help bring her home safely.

The Co-Host Returns To Today
On April 6, Savannah returned to her role on the show. She first sat down with Hoda Kotb for her first interview since the investigation started. The conversation was split into three parts, with the first two airing on Thursday, March 26, and the final part airing Friday morning, March 27.
During the interview, Savannah shared details she hadn’t spoken about before, including the moment she learned her mother was missing.
Savannah knew that despite it being difficult, she wanted to return to her job. In the third and final part of her interview, she explained why she’s choosing to come back while still going through the heartbreaking situation and knowing her mother’s kidnapper is still out there.
“It’s hard to imagine doing it because it’s such a place of joy and lightness, and I can’t come back and try to be something that I’m not,” Savannah said. “But I can’t not come back, because it’s my family. I think it’s part of my purpose right now.”

Savannah Guthrie Set To Host New Wordle Show
Now, Savannah is set to join another television program, where she will take on hosting responsibilities. A devoted Wordle player herself, she will be center stage on a new show that will bring the online game to life.
Wordle first launched in 2021 before being acquired by The New York Times the following year. Since then, the daily word puzzle has grown into a global phenomenon, with millions of players returning each day to solve a new challenge.
The show’s executive producer Jimmy Fallon visited the Today show to share more details about the new project.
“We’ve been developing Wordle as a game show for the past two and a half years with the New York Times, and it’s official, we are making Wordle game show with our host, Savannah Guthrie!” he explained.
Jimmy said choosing Savannah as host was an easy decision.
“We were looking, we’re like, ‘Who’s the perfect host for this? We need to have someone that looks like they play Wordle, someone that knows how to run a show and host it.’ And we did the pilot, and you are amazing,” Jimmy continued.
