Actor and director Tom Sizemore has been hospitalized in Los Angeles after suffering an aneurysm at his home.

He was rushed to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.

“I can confirm Tom is hospitalized in intensive care due to a brain aneurysm. He is currently in critical condition and it’s a wait-and-see situation,” Sizemore’s manager, Charles Lago, told Yahoo Entertainment. “His family is aware and waiting for updates. There are no further updates at this time.”

The 61-year-old actor’s decades-long career includes credits for his roles in movies such as Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Passenger 57 (1992), Strange Days (1995), Saving Private Ryan (1998), Black Hawk Down (2001) and Pearl Harbor (2001).

Tom Sizemore’s successful film career was often marred by issues in his personal life that included addiction, domestic violence and incarceration.

In 2017, Sizemore wrote a memoir, By Some Miracle, I Made it Out of There, in which he shared stories of his troubled life. He shared a story living in his car for two years and asking fellow actor Jack Nicholson for $10 million when his drug addiction was at its worst.

“I’m asking certain people for money. I asked Jack Nicholson, ‘Can you loan me $10 million?’ and he said, ‘In a word, no,’” Sizemore shared.

In 2003, Sizemore was sentenced to six months in jail for physically abusing his then-girlfriend Heidi Fleiss in 2003. He was sentenced to 16 months in prison in 2007 for violating his probation, Yahoo! reports.
