Seven People, Including NASCAR’s Greg Biffle And His Family, Were Killed In A Plane Crash On December 18
In the moments before she and her family died in a plane crash, Cristina Biffle shared a moving message in her final post on social media.
On Thursday (December 18), news broke that a Cessna C550 business jet crashed at the Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina. Initial reports shared the plane was registered to GB Aviation Leasing LLC, a company owned by former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle.
Early reports spoke about six victims. Sadly, we later learned that seven people lost their lives in the crash.
A few hours passed before the victims’ identities became known. A statement released by the Biffle, Grossu, Dutton, and Lunders families relayed the heartbreaking news.
Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, their son Ryder, and Greg’s daughter Emma (who he shared with ex-wife Nicole Lunders), all died in the crash. The statement identified Craig Wadsworth, Dennis Dutton, and Dennis’ son, Jack, as the other victims.

Cristina Biffle’s Final Social Media Post Contained A Moving Message
After the crash, people started revisiting the Biffles’ social media pages. They discovered that Cristina Biffle shared her final post shortly before the tragedy.
That post contained a meaningful message. It originated from a page called Boss Babe.
It read, “At 30, Martha Stewart hadn’t started a business. At 35, she launched her catering company. At 58, she became a billionaire.”
When visiting the Boss Babe page, you see that their caption on the post reads, “These stories are your reminder that you’re not behind…you’re right on time.”
The larger post is a slideshow containing images of famous businesswomen who found success later in life.

Cristina Biffle’s mom, Cathy Grossu, spoke to PEOPLE about her kind and caring heart. One of their last conversations centered on “Santa letters” that Cristina sent “at her own expense” to families in need.
“She said, ‘Mom, can you go pick up the last 17 letters that are at Staples? I want to get them in the mail before I get on the plane tomorrow,'” Cathy recalled.
“So I ran over and got ’em and took them to their house, and when they got home last night, she put them in envelopes and finished them all up to get them off to those last 17 families to bring joy to them, and that would be the last thing that she would’ve done.”
Cristina’s friend, Erica Zangwill, also spoke to PEOPLE. Erica told the outlet that Cristina “loved helping other people before herself.”
“She was a one in a million individual and I can’t believe she’s gone,” Erica said.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who knew and loved Greg Biffle, Cristina, Emma, Ryder, Craig Wadsworth, Dennis Dutton, and Jack Dutton. May they rest in peace…
