Semi Hauling Load Of Toilet Paper Crashes, Catches Fire On Texas Highway
on Apr 02, 2020
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, people have been panic-buying groceries and toiletries to ensure they have an ample stock of supplies. Grocery stores are doing the best they can to keep up with the demand, but certain items fly off the shelves within minutes.
One such item is toilet paper. For whatever reason, people have been prepping for their weeks of quarantine by buying and hoarding massive amounts of toilet paper, leaving hardly any to be found for those who just need to buy their pack for the month.
Because of the increased demand, many trucks are packed to the brim with TP as they make their way to stores across the country.
However, one unknown location in San Antonio, Texas won’t be getting the toilet paper it needs after its delivery truck crashed on a Texas highway.
NBCDFW reports that an 18-wheeler hauling a load of toilet paper crashed early Wednesday morning (April 1) after the driver fell asleep at the wheel. The driver was traveling from Alabama to San Antonio on I-20 when he crashed, causing thousands of rolls of toilet paper to scatter across the highway.
The crash also created a fire.

Thankfully, the driver and his dog were not seriously injured. But the mess caused by the crash and the fire resulted in the closure of all westbound lanes of I-20 between Texas 310 and Interstate 45.
You can see footage of the aftermath of the semi crash by tuning in to the video below.
It’s a shame that all of that toilet paper was lost, but we’re relieved to hear the driver and dog were able to walk away from the crash.
If you need to head to the store to search for TP and other supplies, there’s a way to go about handling the groceries you bring home. Tune in to the video below to hear Dr. Jeffery VanWingen describe how to properly sanitize your groceries in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
