It was a night of celebration as the 59th annual CMA Awards took over Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Lainey Wilson hosted what is known as “country music’s biggest night,” and the stars showcased some of the best country music from the past year on the CMA stage.

The performance lineup included Ella Langley, Zach Top, Miranda Lambert, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Chris Stapleton, and more.

Additionally, Vince Gill was honored with the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award, and Kenny Chesney performed in celebration of his recent induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Shaboozey And Stephen Wilson Jr. Team Up For Exciting Collaboration

Music, film, and literature all collided with Shaboozey and Stephen Wilson Jr.’s collaboration. The pair performed their ballad “Took A Walk” from the recent film, The Long Walk, an adaptation of Stephen King’s novel by the same name. The film was directed by Francis Lawrence and hit the theaters in September.

Shaboozey told Rolling Stone:

“I’m so thrilled that Francis thought of us to close out his film. I really felt for these characters. These guys seemingly have no future, but hold on tight to the idea of hope—a better life, a better world. It felt familiar. The movie feels timeless and soulful, so I thought Stephen’s guitar would be the perfect complement to leave fans with a song that feels timeless.”

Wilson Jr. added:

“When I was approached to write a counterpart to this song with Shaboozey, knowing it was based on Mr. King’s work, I was honored and humbled to be invited into the portrayal of such a storyline. I’m such a fan of Shaboozey and his authenticity, and jumped at the opportunity to sonically dance with this visceral but hopeful film and try to highlight the beauty in the most adverse moments.”

Introduced by comedian Bert Kreischer, the pair slowed things down and gave a haunting performance.
