Super Bowl commercials are some of the most entertaining ads we will see all year. This year, roughly 80 commercials aired with advertisers pays a pretty penny for just a 30-second spot.
According to the Associated Press, 30-second spots cost around $8 million, so advertisers make sure to put forth their best work.
In recent years, Rocket has been one of the mainstays of Super Bowl commercials alongside Budweiser, Doritos, and DoorDash. For this year’s game, they used an iconic song, “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” to help get their heartwarming message across.
Rocket’s Commercial Made History
Rocket aired a commercial set to the tune of John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” that showed a variety of people coming home. They showed a pregnant woman in an apartment tell her unborn baby, “Let’s get you home,” a family playing in their backyard, a new couple walking into their first home together, a woman repainting a room in her house, a teen daughter coming home after being injured, and military members flying home.
About halfway through the commercial, each character began singing Denver’s iconic lyrics, and even showed football fans singing along.
“Everyone deserves their shot at the American Dream. Own the Dream,” read the words on the screen.

The official commercial ended with the pregnant woman in a new home with her baby, but then the commercial did something no one else has done before.
The commercial continued playing the song, but then showed the crowd from Super Bowl LIX singing along to the song in stadium! According to the company, it is “the first Super Bowl ad ever synced to a live, in-stadium sing-along.”
Some of their paid influencers recorded the song playing live in the stadium, which added to the historic moment!
