Taylor Swift is the latest celebrity to come forward to donate to relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Helene and as Hurricane Milton makes landfall in Florida.
Feeding American CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot shared in a statement that the organization had received a donation of $5 million from Taylor Swift. In the statement posted to social media, she thanked Swift, and encouraged others to follow her lead and donate to the cause.
“This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms,” Babineaux-Fontenot wrote. “Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need.”
Fans praised the “Love Story” singer’s generosity, saying, “This is why her fans stand with her through everything. She puts kindness and generosity into everything she does.” Another fan wrote, “Hate her or love her, she puts her money to great use and has a big heart.”
Country stars also came through with generous donations and plans to support hurricane victims.
Jason Aldean wrapped up his Highway Desperado Tour with a personal donation of $500,000 to help victims of Hurricane Helene, a category 4 storm that devastated the Carolinas and eastern Tennessee. Aldean also presented a $6.5 million check to Samaritan’s Purse. Those funds were raised through a GoFundMe account organized by Donald Trump.
Dolly Parton made a public appearance in Newport, Tennessee, last week and announced that she was writing a personal check for $1 million and was committing another $1 million through her Dollywood Foundation.
Country stars Luke Combs and Eric Church are teaming up for a star-studded fundraising concert event called “Concert For Carolina.” The concert is scheduled to take place on October 26 and will also feature appearances by Billy Strings, Bailey Zimmerman, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow, and James Taylor.
Morgan Wallen also submitted a generous $500,000 donation to hurricane relief efforts. In addition, his Morgan Wallen Foundation announced plans to partner with the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee to host a food drive. Wallen himself showed up at the food drive Wednesday (October 9) to help load a truck with much needed items to help areas of East Tennessee devastated by Hurricane Helene.
According to Second Harvest Food Bank, the drive accepted approximately 23,000 pounds of supplies and food that will be distributed to victims in the coming days.
