Teary-Eyed Jana Kramer Addresses Fans For 1st Time Since Filing For Divorce
on Apr 29, 2021
On April 21, Jana Kramer put up a message on social media that started with the line “‘It’s time.‘”
“As I try to make sense of a reality I never wanted to believe could be possible again, those words have now become a reality,” she said.
Fans quickly caught on to the fact that this message was Jana’s way of saying she was ending things with her husband, Mike Caussin. The note continued:
“I’ve loved hard. I’ve forgiven. I’ve put the work in. I’ve given everything I have, and now I have nothing else to give.”

E! News obtained Jana’s divorce filing and published a report on its contents. She listed her and Mike’s date of separation as April 20, the day before she announced their split on social media.
Jana listed three reasons why she was filing for divorce:
“…the 37-year-old country singer lists her reason for separating from the former football player as ‘inappropriate marital conduct, irreconcilable differences and adultery,” E! News reported.
Jana and Mike previously separated in 2016 due to his infidelity. He went to rehab for sex addiction, and the couple reconciled in 2017. They renewed their wedding vows later that year.
Since then, Jana and Mike have continued to experience their fair share of challenges. They openly discussed these ups and downs on social media, and on their Whine Down podcast. Last year, they published a book, The Good Fight, detailing their struggles and how they got through them.
The couple also shares two children, Jolie (age five) and Jace (age two). According to the divorce filing, Jana is seeking shared custody.
Jana has remained fairly quiet on social media for the past few days. She shared a few inspirational quotes on her Instagram Story and posted some videos of her kids playing.
Then, on Wednesday (April 28), a teary-eyed Jana addressed her fans for the first time since filing for divorce from Mike. She posted a series of videos on her Instagram Story, and said the words she had to share came “from the heart”:
“I just want to say thank you for all of the comments and the dms, and the love. I have to start getting used to my new normal. And, I guess forgive me for not really knowing how to walk that yet. You know, I’m trying to just really dive into books and my therapist, and not put a band-aid on things. Because, you know, in order to fully grow you have to grieve and heal.”
Jana said she wants to get back in the swing of posting more regularly and communicating with her fans. She spoke to them once more on Thursday morning (April 29) when she talked about the rainy weather and how it wasn’t helping her mood. She also asked her fans to suggest some books she should read during this time.
It’s heartbreaking to see Jana hurting like this. We wish her nothing but the best moving forward into her “new normal.”
