A Man From Franklin, Tennessee Has Been Charged With Stealing Money From George Jones’ Widow
A Tennessee man has been accused of stealing millions in cryptocurrency and hundreds of thousands in cash from his former girlfriend, Nancy Jones, the widow of country music legend George Jones, her attorney confirmed to a local news outlet.
Kirk West, a 58-year-old man from Franklin, Tennessee, has been arrested and charged with theft.
An affidavit states that on Wednesday (July 23), Jones reported a theft, alleging that West stole around $400,000 in cash and a Ledger cryptocurrency wallet from two safes in her Franklin home on or around June 26.

Jones’ Granddaughter Reports Money Missing
According to court documents, Jones contacted her granddaughter last month and asked her to secure cash and jewelry from a safe after suspecting that her longtime romantic partner, Kirk West, was being unfaithful.
The documents showed that the granddaughter discovered that $400,000 in cash and a Ledger cryptocurrency wallet, containing approximately 5,534,307 units of XRP, were missing from the safe.
Police stated that West was the only individual, aside from Jones, who had access to the wallet’s private key.
Court documents revealed that Jones stated that she asked Kirk West to leave her home on June 28. West allegedly later called Jones and told her he would return $5 million of the stolen cryptocurrency to her bank account, claiming that was all she would receive.
West faces a charge of theft exceeding $250,000, according to authorities. His bond has been set at $1 million, and he is scheduled to appear in court on October 23.
