The Beach Boys Call Off Remaining Summer Tour Dates, Mike Love Speaks Out

The Beach Boys are clearing their schedules for a while.
The band’s co-founder, Mike Love, took to social media on Thursday, July 23, to share an important update with fans.
He announced that The Beach Boys would be postponing more than a month’s worth of shows on their Endless Summer Gold Tour.
If you had tickets to see the band between July 23 and September 3, those concerts have now either been canceled or pushed back and will take place at a later date.
Love didn’t go into detail about why the shows were being postponed. He simply said the band would be taking some time off to “recharge” before performing live again. A portion of Love’s statement says:
“Playing for you is the highlight of our summer every year—especially as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States while saluting the 60th Anniversary of Pet Sounds. We’ve been having a blast out there, and to keep the good vibrations going strong, we’ll be taking a short break to recharge before getting back on the road in September.”
For the most part, fans were very understanding about the sudden change to the tour. Many showed their support in the comments, saying the band should take all the time they need and put their health and well-being first.
“You guys have been going on full throttle for years. Time to catch a break and recharge the battery. We will be there for you when you get back,” a fan wrote.
“Sending love and good vibrations..take care of yourself and look forward to seeing you all this fall,” another said.
“I’m so glad you’re gonna be getting the rest you need, I hope you feel better soon! Take care of yourself, wishing you a super speedy recovery and sending you all the love. Hope to see you soon!,” said someone else.
This Isn’t The First Time The Beach Boys Have Canceled Shows This Year
Love has dealt with a few health issues this year. The 85-year-old has been recovering from a battle with bronchitis followed by COVID-19.
The Beach Boys were forced to cancel a few shows during that time, but Love recovered enough for the band to return to the stage for a short stretch in July.
Although it seems likely, it’s unclear if Love’s condition is the main reason behind the latest round of postponed tour dates.

Mike Love is the only original member still touring with the iconic group.
Three Beach Boy bandmates have passed away. Dennis Wilson died in 1983, Carl Wilson died in 1998, and Brian Wilson died on June 11, 2025.
Bruce Johnston has retired, while Al Jardine is still performing, but he’s taken a different path. He’s currently touring with his own group, the Pet Sounds Band, which features him alongside Brian Wilson’s longtime backing band.
