Just two days after the first three episodes dropped, The Madison beat out another Taylor Sheridan hit, the Yellowstone spin-off Marshals, on the domestic Paramount+ charts.

The show’s star-studded cast and emotional storylines brought people in, but just how many people?

How Did The Madison Perform?

This show in particular is a stark contrast from Sheridan’s usual shows like Yellowstone, Landman, Lioness, Mayor Of Kingstown, which all include crime, drama, and action. But it seems that this new emotional side of Sheridan works.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount+ is reporting that the new drama “debuted to 8 million viewers globally during its first 10 days.”

These numbers make it the largest series debut for a Taylor Sheridan show on Paramount+.

The Madison Is Returning For Season 2

So many fans were upset that Season One was so short, but don’t fret, it will be back for Season Two. In fact, they have already filmed it! The Season Two premiere date has yet to be announced, but we do know that one cast member will not be back.

Matthew Fox, who plays Paul Clyburn in the series, has revealed that he will not appear in Season Two. While some fans might be upset about that, it makes sense for the storyline. His character, as well as Kurt Russell’s character Preston, died in the first episode but appeared in the rest of the season as flashbacks.

Season Two will explore Michelle Pfeiffer’s grief journey after losing her husband, Preston, while reconnecting with him through his journals.

Fox was attracted to the role of Paul because of its one-season commitment.

“That’s one of my requirements these days,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m at a point in my life where I’d rather pop in and do something interesting, but I don’t want to dedicate six years of my life to something [again].”
