Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren are staples at just about every music awards show. They consistently top our cutest couples and best dressed lists, but for the first time since his emergence onto the country music scene, he was no where to be found on Wednesday (June 6).

Although he was up for three awards, Collaborative Video of the Year, Male Video of the Year, and Video of the Year, Rhett steered clear of the CMT Music Awards. Thanks to his and Lauren’s social media accounts – we know the truth.

The morning of the CMA Awards, they traveled with some of their friends to Cleveland, Ohio to watch the Cleveland Cavaliers play the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. We knew that Rhett loved sports, but we didn’t realize he was such a huge basketball fan!

Sporting Cavaliers gear from head to toe, the married couple of almost six years cheered on LeBron James and Company, who were attempting to win their first game of the series.

Despite their efforts of cheering on their favorite team, the Cavaliers lost 110-102, giving the Warriors a 3-0 lead in the best of seven series. It still looked like they all had an awesome time at the game.
