Team Snoop’s Mindy Miller earned a spot in the Playoffs with a spectacular performance of Jamey Johnson’s “In Color.”

The Voice Season 28 Knockouts are nearly over, and it’s less than a month until a new winner will be named. Only five acts from each team will compete in the Playoffs, meaning that the stakes were high during the Knockouts.

On Monday’s episode (Nov. 17), three more artists were eliminated and three advanced to the live Playoff round. Team Snoop’s Mindy Miller and Carolina Rodriguez went head-to-head in an intense sing-off, both hoping to avoid elimination.

Carolina, a former Team Niall member who was stolen by Snoop Dogg, lent her beautiful vocals to “Lovesong” by The Cure. Mindy dedicated a flawless performance of Jamey Johnson’s “In Color” to her grandparents, whom she credits for her love of music.

Prior to their Knockout, the pair was mentored by their coach, Snoop Dogg, and guest mentor Zac Brown. Snoop warned Mindy and Carolina that they needed to deliver “a performance of all performances” to win the round.

Who won the Knockout?

Both ladies pulled out all the stops, showing their dedication to the process and the competition.

“Mindy, you’re so solid. So consistent,” Niall Horan said. He turned his attention to his former team member Carolina, saying, “You shocked me there. That was another level again.”

Reba also praised the singers, telling Carolina that the song sounded like it was from a James Bond movie … It was very sensual and mysterious. And Mindy, you did such a good job. I’m so proud of you representing country music like you have.”

Ultimately, Coach Snoop chose to move Mindy forward in the competition, bringing Carolina’s The Voice journey to an end.

“Mindy just sounded mature. She sounded grown, like ‘I am here. I am polished. I am together.’ And if the country music world is what I think they are, they’re going to support her,” Snoop said of his decision.
