“The Voice” Brings Back Past Winners For First-Ever All-Star Showdown – But Who Won?
on Apr 07, 2026

Season 29 Of The Voice Rebranded To The Voice: Battle Of Champions
The Voice: Battle Of Champions premiered on February 23rd and it’s a lot different from past seasons! For one, there are only three coaches as opposed to the usual four.
Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine were tapped as the coaches for this historic season.
The show has all new rules this season and will feature five rounds: Blind Auditions, Battles, Knockouts, Semifinals, and Finals.
At the end of the Blind Auditions, each coach was allowed ten artists. Also during this round, the show introduced a “Triple Turn Competition.” The coach who had the most artists join their team that were three-chair turns won the “Super Steal,” which means that they have the power to block another coach from stealing an artist. Clarkson ended up winning the Super Steal.
Another new aspect of the show is the All-Star Showdown. During the Knockout Rounds, each coach brought back two past artists to compete head to head in the showdown. CeeLo Green, who was an original coach on the show, returned to judge this portion of the competition.
The coach who won the most showdowns would be awarded one more spot in the finals.
What Artists Did The Coaches Bring Back?
During the Monday, April 6th episode, the first-ever All-Star Showdown took place with each coach bringing back two singers from their past seasons. To make things even more nostalgic, the All-Stars perfomed song they sang during their season competing on The Voice.
The first Showdown was between Season 21 champions with Kelly Clarkson, Girl Named Tom, and Season 27 finalist Renzo, who was coached by John Legend.
Girl Named Tom, a sibling trio, sang “Dust In The Wind,” while Renzo performed “Dream On.” CeeLo chose Girl named Tom as the winners of the first Showdown.
The second Showdown was between John Legend’s Season 16 champion Maelyn Jarmon, who sang “Fields Of Gold,” and Adam Levine’s Season 9 champion Jordan Smith. After Jarmon’s performance, Smith joked, “I quit, I give up,” but he still put his best foot forward with an incredible rendition of “Chandelier.” CeeLo declared that Jarmon was the winner of this round.
The third and final Showdown was between Season 17 winner Jake Hoot from Team Kelly, and the first-ever winner of The Voice, Javier Colon from Team Adam. CeeLo determined that Hoot’s performance of “Desperado” bested Colon’s rendition of “Time After Time.”
This meant that both of Clarkson’s All-Stars won their Showdown, making her the winner!
