After weeks of self-quarantining, many guys and gals are in need of a little TLC when it comes to their hair. But since hair salons are closed right now, people either need to let their hair run wild or take care of it themselves.

In Blake Shelton‘s case, he has decided to grow back his old mullet at the encouragement of his girlfriend Gwen Stefani. He made the announcement of the mullet’s return on March 18, saying he was growing it out “as a symbol of hope or some s— like that.”

Shelton later shared a video to show his mullet-growing progress. He said Stefani took it upon herself to give his hairdo a little extra flair by shaving stripes on the side of his head.

Shelton isn’t the only country star who has decided to sport a new look in quarantine. Thomas Rhett recently took to social media to showcase how he altered his own appearance, and the change is pretty drastic!

Rhett’s first single, “Something to Do with My Hands,” was released in 2012. Since then, we’ve known him as a bearded fellow, though he occasionally went clean-shaven during the early phase of his career.

Eventually, Rhett decided to embrace his beard, and kept it for the past five years. So by now, people are used to seeing him with a beard.

However, Rhett decided it was time for a change, and opted to shave his beard off for the first time in ages. He debuted his new look through a photo he posted on social media.

First time in 5 years I’ve shaved my beard off.. I immediately feel 10 years younger,” he wrote.

Just days prior, a still-bearded Rhett announced the release of a new song, “Be a Light.” The song is a collaboration with Reba McEntire, Keith Urban, Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum, and Christian artist Chris Tomlin.

All proceeds from the song will benefit the MusiCares COVID-19 relief fund. MusiCares, which is under the umbrella of the Recording Academy, was established to provide aid to musicians and music industry personnel during times of need. This is definitely one such time.

You can contribute to the MusiCares COVID-19 relief fund by listening to Rhett’s “Be a Light” below or by donating directly to the fund here.

Thanks to “Be a Light,” Rhett is helping making a difference in the world. And he’s doing it all while sporting a different look!
