On Monday (July 29), all the big names in country music came together for a special night at the American Icon tribute concert.

The show was held to honor the life and legacy of American legend Toby Keith. Most of the proceeds went to The Toby Keith Foundation, which funds his OK Kids Corral organization. It was filmed at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, and will be aired later in August on NBC.

Many star performers sang at the concert, including Luke Bryan, Trace Adkins, Eric Church, Ashley McBryde, and many more! Toby Keith’s own daughter, Krystal Keith, even delivered a beautiful performance of “Don’t Let The Old Man In.”

Each touching performance stood out and was a perfect way to honor Toby Keith. But one special moment truly brought the house down.

Parker McCollum took the stage for the finale performance of “Courtesy Of The Red, White, And Blue.”

Toby Keith wrote “Courtesy Of The Red, White, And Blue (The Angry American)” in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks and the passing of his father. Arguably, it is one of the most recognizable, if not the most iconic, tracks by Toby Keith. It’s no secret that Keith was unapologetically patriotic and he once said of the song:

“I had a dad that was a veteran, taught me how precious our freedom is – I was so angry when we were attacked here on American soil that it leaked out of me.”

Before singing the legendary track, Parker McCollum took a moment to address the crowd. He shared:

“What an incredible honor it is to be here tonight. I’ve listened to Toby Keith’s songs as long as I’ve been alive as far as I can remember. [It’s] pretty unbelievable to be here tonight, to get to honor a great American patriot, an unbelievable family man, and one of the greatest country music singer/songwriters to ever live. It is my absolute honor to play this song for you guys right here. Please help me help me out if you know this one.”

Of course, the entire audience sang as loud and proud as they could. Check it out in the video below!

But what made this moment truly special was the surprise of the entire concert lineup joining McCollum on stage.

From Carrie Underwood and Darius Rucker to Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll, it was truly a star-studded finale. As they gathered around McCollum, the stage transformed into a true celebration of Toby Keith’s legacy.

What an amazing moment to witness all of these talented artists come together to end the night in such a special way. Toby Keith would sure be proud.
