The Payment To Soldiers Was Announced During Trump’s Dec. 17 Primetime Address
Last night, Dec. 17, President Donald Trump delivered a primetime address to the nation.
There, he discussed a variety of subjects, ranging from his administration’s progress in securing the Southern border to his inventive approaches to bringing in revenue for the American people.
While many of his talking points were familiar to anyone who has listened to his rallies or press conferences, there was one initiative that was introduced that was entirely new.
Dubbed the “Warrior Dividend,” this special one-time payment will be directed to active military personnel.
“Tonight, I am also proud to announce that … 1,450,000 military service members will receive a special Warrior Dividend before Christmas,” said Trump.
About The Warrior Dividend
2026 will be the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and Trump presented the Warrior Dividend as being reflective of that significant national milestone.
Trump stated:
“In honor of our nation’s founding in 1776, we are sending every soldier $1,776. Think of that. The checks are already on the way.”
The president went on to attribute the reality of this dividend payout to active military members to the success of tariffs, which have been an area of significant contention.
Continuing, Trump said, “We made a lot more money than anyone thought because of tariffs.”
It remains to be seen if Trump’s tariff policy will be permitted to continue by the Supreme Court.

No Updates Made On $2,000 Dividend For Every American
While the Warrior Dividend was announced, there were no new developments shared during Trump’s Dec. 17 primetime address regarding the dividend that Trump had hinted at in November.
That dividend would be “paid to everyone” and is expected to be “at least $2,000,” wrote Trump on Truth Social on Nov. 9.
The next day, on Nov. 10, Trump shared an additional post on Truth Social about the dividends, saying:
“All money left over from the $2000 payments made to low and middle income USA Citizens, from the massive Tariff Income pouring into our Country from foreign countries, which will be substantial, will be used to SUBSTANTIALLY PAY DOWN NATIONAL DEBT.”
